This morning we started off with "Team Edit Tuesday". Each week, our teachers write us a letter FILLED with mistakes! Our job is to edit the letter as a team. We are getting better and better each week! In Music, Mrs. Stanford's group learned a new song. We also looked at more artifacts from the Inuit Kit. Today we wrote about three things: what we noticed (our observations), what we think (materials it might be made out of, how they built it, etc.) and what we wonder (questions about the artifact). Ask me what I noticed about my artifacts today. After recess we had Daily 5. Each day we should be working on two different task. Today I worked on.....
This afternoon we went over the "Team Edit Tuesday" letter as a group - holy moly there were lots of mistakes! Then we read a story called, This is me, by Jamie Lee Curtis. In, This Is Me, a teacher tells her class about her great-grandmother’s dislocating journey from home to a new country with nothing but a small suitcase to bring along. And she asks: What would you pack? What are the things you love best? What says “This is me!” We then thought about what is important to us. In our Visual Journals we drew a suitcase and came up with 5 items that we would bring with us. Some items that we came up with were:
- favorite teddy bears
- family heirlooms
- pictures of family/pets
We finished our day with gym! After our warm-up stations we practiced Pickle Ball serving into a bucket to work on our aim.
- Please make sure we have appropriate clothes for the weather - we had some cold fingers this morning
- Picture day is this Thursday, October 13th. Our pictures will be taken in the morning.
Have a great night!
