Our Grade Two Team:
Deb McLarty:
I am really looking forward to teaching for my 4th year at Evergreen. I have been teaching since 1995 in Grades One to Five throughout Calgary and the BC Coast. I have two active boys at home with my oldest in Grade Six and my youngest starting Grade Four! I love to read, spend time playing in the outdoors and taking care of our earth. It is going to be another exciting year and creating many meaningful learning experiences with your children.
Jennifer Stanford:
I am so very excited to be starting my third year at Evergreen School and my 8th year of teaching. I'm looking forward to seeing our group of students and having fun learning together! I have lived in Alberta my entire life and married a native Calgarian! At home I have a beautiful 4 year old girl and an adorable 2 year old boy. They keep us on our toes! When I'm not running around after my kids you can find me on the baseball diamond or sleeping (ha! I wish!) We have a great team again this year and I feel so fortunate to be working with them!
Jennifer Stuart:
I am excited to be welcoming back our group of students to our classroom community and am so fortunate to be working with my amazing team partner for another year. This is my tenth year of living and teaching in Calgary. I am originally from Vancouver, B.C. and attended UBC for both my Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees. I am a mom of two beautiful children who are just at the beginning of their school years. In the classroom I am passionate about early literacy, art and science. At home my loves are reading, painting, travel and sailing.
Winnie Tang:
I am so excited to be joining the Grade 2 team here at Evergreen School! I graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Bachelor of Education. I have lived in Calgary my entire life and my family lives here as well. I enjoy brain teasers and puzzles, baking, and drawing, and I do not get out to the mountains enough despite living so close. I’m looking forward to getting to know the students and working with an amazing team!
Rachael Tipper:
I am thrilled to be starting my twelfth year of teaching! Originally born in Ireland, my family immigrated to Canada when I was at a young age. I have known I wanted to be a teacher since I was 8 years old, and have a background in teaching equestrian riding, and synchronized swimming nationally. When I am not thinking of more crazy, fun, adventurous, big ideas to do with my class, I am spending time with my husband and 6 year old son (who keeps us VERY busy). I enjoy travelling the world, quiet time reading a good book, taking in the latest movie, and more recently running. I am also a national competitor in the word of horses with dressage. I look forward to another year side by side with my amazing team partner and all our students!!!
Fiona Watkins:
I am excited to be starting my 20th year of teaching! I have two teenage boys, one starting high school and one just off for his first year of University. We keep busy playing in the mountains most weekends: skiing, climbing, biking and hiking. When I’m not at school I can also be found running in Fish Creek, doing yoga or paddling on a lake. I am delighted to be teaching Grade Two with our fabulous team of teachers and seeing the amazing growth your children will experience this year.
Leanne Yacyshyn:
I am so happy to be working at Evergreen School this year! I began teaching in B.C.'s Lower Mainland in 2000 before moving to Alberta. My husband, two children and I are enjoying settling in to life in Calgary and trying very hard to adjust to the cooler winters;)
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, walking my dog and doing yoga. I am looking forward to being a part of the Grade Two Team this year!
Natalie Goodall
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join Evergreen School! I was a teacher with Edmonton Public Schools fore 12 years before moving to Calgary with my husband and two children. When I'm not at school, or at the hockey arena with my two boys, I love to go camping, hiking, and fishing. Now that we live so close to the mountains, I would love to learn how to ski!
