Today in math we made tall, skinny cylinders and short, fat cylinders out of construction paper. We filled them each with blocks and counted how many fit into the different cylinders. We learned that the short, fat cylinders held more cubes than the tall ones. The most cubes we could fit in a cylinder was 116. We will be adding 116 Hershey Kisses into our jar! Yeah!
We have been reading different variations of the Fairy Tale Jack and the Beanstock. We retold the story by drawing cartoons. We are learning to tell a story through pictures (and a few words). Tomorrow we are going to start reading different variations of the "Three Little Pigs".
Due to some incidents/injuries at lunch and recess, we are are asking that all mini hockey sticks be left at home. With the cold weather and ice they are becoming more dangerous. Thank you for understanding.
Have a great night!
