Tomorrow we will have a second attempt to keep an ice cube frozen. We will be working on improving the design from our first attempt. If your child has any materials that they think would be a good insulator they can bring it tomorrow.
This morning we were fortunate to have Mr. Fred, our custodian, visit our class to teach us about lobsters in Nova Scotia where he is originally from. He brought in a real lobster trap and read us a story. We also had the opportunity to look closely at the trap and draw it.
In math we continued to work on thinking of addition for subtraction. We also reviewed the concept of subitizing which we have been practicing when recording scores for Bunko. By using tallies, we can quickly count by 5s to total our scores.
In Social Studies, we learned about the Mi'kmaq First Nations group which were the first people to live in the Acadian area. They taught the Acadians how to hunt and live off the land.
