This week during our reading time we are being 'word hunters' by looking for homonyms. Some we have found so far are: scene & seen bee & be buy & by hear & here peace & piece
We are discovering that there are many homonyms in the English language and we are learning the differences in how they are spelled. We also read a new poem called The Snowman and identified many rhyming pairs such as: snow & toe & blow ears & years away & day
In Science we are learning about the differences between cold-blooded animals and warm-blooded animals. We watched a video called Winter Adaptations which explained that many animal's body temperature lowers and their breathing slows down. Other animals adapt by growing a thicker layer of fur. In the afternoon we continued to work on our Arts Commons powerpoint presentation and explored circus games in gym. At the end of the day we enjoyed a fun, imaginative book called Not a Box.
