Today we arrived to class and the egg experiment from yesterday worked! The egg was floating in the salt water. This afternoon we experimented again with raisins in a liquid. This time we changed one variable. Instead of using ginger ale we used sparkling water. We noticed lots of bubbles on the raisins again. We are exploring the concept of buoyancy and how the raisins and egg became buoyant and floated. Students had many excellent theories about why.
In the morning we began brainstorming ideas in a web or list for writing a diary entry from the perspective of an Acadian person. Tomorrow we will begin writing using complete sentences focusing on expressing the emotions of the person we are pretending to me.
In math we looked for patterns between numbers and worked on solving some math puzzles.
