This morning began with Music and practicing for the upcoming Winter Concert at the end of the month.
During morning meeting, we have been comparing the weather from the last 2 months. We noticed that September was sunnier than October which was more cloudy. During Literacy we have been working in small groups for guided reading where we continue to use our decoding strategies to look for word chunks, endings and rhymes. We are also working on expanding our vocabulary and discussing events or concepts from the books to deepen our comprehension skills.
In Science we wrote observations from our science experiment yesterday and discussed the water cycle. We learned about precipitation (snow, rain, hail), evaporation and condensation. In math, we used tens and ones to add a variety of Halloween treats amounts such as:
24 Cheetos + 25 Starburst = 49
