Dear Families,
What an exciting day we had!! Bobby Wills, a Dad of one of our students, as well as a country music performer came to our class to sing some songs and answer our many thoughtful questions. We really enjoyed hearing our favourite song "30,000 Feet" as it has been the inspiration behind both a writing piece we did and an art project. To top it off....we each got a CD to take home!!! A big thank you to Bobby Wills :)
We also viewed more of Ted Harrison's artwork today and drew similarities and differences between his work and that of Norval Morrisseau's. In Math we represented numbers in various ways: using tallies, ten frames, base ten blocks, number lines, expanded form, making number sentences and skip counting patterns.
Tomorrow is the Grade 1 Toy Sale with proceeds going to the Stephen's Backpack Society:
Students will have time to shop with their class during the day on Thursday. Students may bring in their money to buy items or they can make a donation if they would like. The items are usually between $1-5 each and the sale will be in the learning commons this year.
Reminders:
*No school for students this Friday!
*We are still very much in need of volunteers for our Science School trip the week of December 5-9. We need 2 more volunteers each day Mon-Thurs and 3 volunteers on Friday.
Have a great evening!
Love,
The Grade 2's
