Important notices:
- Parent-Teacher conferences are this Thursday 4-8 and Friday 8am-1pm. If you have not yet booked your conference, you can do that online. There is no school on Friday.
- Remember to hand in your skating forms.
- We need two volunteers for the 6th, one volunteer for 8th, and one volunteer for the 14th. Volunteers do not need to skate.
Today, we did BUILD with Mrs. Tipper's and Mrs. Stuart's class. We were able to reflect on things that we liked about BUILD and things that we learned. During BUILD, we learned patterns to do mental math and adding doubles, new adding strategies, and how to use different ways to make numbers (make and break).
We listened to and drew three more chapters of Evangeline.
We talked about homophones like see/sea, here/hear, and rose/rows. Homophones are words that sound the same but have different meaning and spelling.
We did Teamwork Tuesday where we talked about respect in our classroom, on the playground, and everywhere around us, and we wrote down ways to be a good classmate and friend.
We went to music and learned about conductors, and we got to conduct a song ourselves.
We learned a game called Silent Soccer. There are three rules: 1) If you talk, you're out. 2) If you drop the ball, you're out. 3) If you make it too hard to catch the ball, you're out.
Have a great evening!
Love,
The Grade 2s :-)
