Dear parents,
Thank you so much for coming to meet with me this past Thursday and Friday! I hope I was able to answer any questions you had about your child and the things we are learning about in Grade 2. I realized a few things after having met with some of you. In particular, I would like to discuss Friday Journals and clarify what to expect tomorrow for skating.
At the end of each week, students write a letter home in their Friday Journals to talk about the things that they learned about that week. The purpose of this activity is to practice correspondence. Therefore, it is important that students receive a response to their letter. This does not need to be a long letter. A comment on what they have written and/or a question for them to follow up on will suffice. I understand that many families are extremely busy, so please send me a quick email or comment below if you would like your child to write a letter to me instead and I can provide a response.
Tomorrow will be our first skating day. Our class will be leaving the school shortly after the lunch bell. Students need to bring a lunch and water bottle, and dress appropriately for skating conditions (everything covered, snow pants are optional). If your child has skates and/or a helmet, we strongly encourage them to bring them tomorrow. Please note that bicycle helmets are not permitted. We will be returning to school at 3:15-3:00 (traffic permitting) after the school buses have departed. Please plan for your child to be picked up at this time.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please email me at [email protected].
Sincerely,
Ms. Tang
