Dear families,
Today we became experts on mental math strategies. Our class is going to write a book on how to do all of them. Each group of two (or three) is working together to write and draw a page to represent one of the strategies we learned about.
“Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow.’"
This morning, we heard this quote and read a book all about courage. We learned that to have courage you have to try over and over to accomplish things. We learned that we could accomplish things that scare us if we have courage. We can follow difficult dreams if we have courage.
In the afternoon, we practiced our drawing skills. We drew a picture of a pug because it is Ms. Tang’s favourite kind of dog. The pugs we drew were so cute! Ask us how to draw a pug.
Also, before the holidays, we earned a special day. Tomorrow, we can bring a board game or puzzle to school to do with our classmates!
Reminder from Ms. Tang: If you have your report card envelope at home, please send it to school with your child.
Love,
The grade 2s
