It was so lovely meeting/seeing you again at the parent/teacher conferences...I told the students today how fortunate they are to have you :)
This morning we started our day with Scribble art….we had to pick a scribble from our whiteboard and make a masterpiece out of it. Ask me what I drew.
In Math we solved some story problems about Mrs. Tipper’s 5 hens and the number of eggs they lay. If each hen lays one egg each day, how many eggs does Mrs. Tipper get each day and how many each week. Some of us finished these questions and were able to figure out how many eggs she would get in the month of September and in the month of October. And in both months combined! Great job :)
In Gym we practiced our pace when running so we don’t get tired out too quickly. We are preparing for the Terry Fox Run on Thursday.
After recess we finished up our math and went to the Learning Commons where Mrs. Schuman helped us sign out some books. We also finished the novel we have been reading, Gooney Bird Greene.
After lunch we had quiet reading time and then we spent some time learning more about Terry Fox and the Marathon of Hope. We discussed things we knew about Terry Fox and made a chart. We created an ‘All About Terry Fox’ page in our visual journals. Ask me something I have learned about Terry Fox.
Toonies for Terry can be brought in at any time….as a school we have set a goal to raise $5000.00 for cancer research. Thank you to those who brought in donations today. Everyone who brings in a donation will have their name entered into a draw for a Terry Fox t-shirt and the opportunity to begin the run with Mrs. Healing.
Have a wonderful evening :)
Love,
