Dear Families,
Today we had our assistant principal, Mrs. Ahn come in to our class to talk to us about perseverance. Ask me what activity I had to persevere at. We did another Halloween story problem in Math which prompted a few students to make up their own Halloween candy story problems :) We had music as well as guided reading/literacy stations for the rest of the morning.
Our afternoon was very busy! We finished testing our 3 towels (this time we used paper towels) for our evaporation experiment. We put one outside under the metal stairs, one in a dark cupboard and one on the windowsill. Ask me which towel dried the fastest.
We also watched a different Canadian Geographic Kids video about Inuit life. After the video we discussed things we found interesting in the video and then we wrote in our Explorer journals about some of the similarities and differences that we notice between our lives and that of the Inuit.
For our winter performance, Mrs. Henderson-McDade has asked for some students to say a few lines during the play. We had so many students who wanted to that we had to choose randomly out of a hat. Today those students who were chosen got a permission slip sent home. Please return this as soon as possible because if your child cannot perform/will not be there on the concert dates I will choose one of my "back-up's" to take a part. Thank you!
Science School Volunteers!
We are in desperate need of more volunteers for Science School! December 5-9...
We require 5 adult volunteers per day.
Please let me know if you are able to volunteer :)
Thank you!
Have a wonderful evening!
Love,
The Grade 2's
