Dear Families,
Today we started the day with reading stations and then we had our music and gym flip-flop. When we came back to class we had a short ketchup time before snack and recess. Also in the morning we looked at our poem of the week. We picked an interesting word to do a word study on, just like we did with Mr. Bowers on Friday. In the afternoon we read some more of our chapter book and then we did a picture walk about Acadian landscapes. We looked at pictures and wrote down everything we could see. We noticed that we had lots of words in common. We also made a world out of them. Our last job today, we started to design a landscape for an Acadian diorama with a partner.
Important reminders:
*** we are still looking for volunteers to help with skating on Wed Feb 8. If you are able to come with us and you have a valid police clearance please let us know. (you don't have to skate)
We are looking for a word that follows the rule of doubling a consonant when adding a suffix that starts with a vowel. The words we looked at today we star + ing = starring or star+ ed = starred. Can you help us find another word that fits this rule?
