Dear Families,
Today we started with reading stations and then we had our gym and music flip flop. When we came back we had a short ketchup time before we had snack and story. Today we read “Who Stole the Mona Lisa”. Next we started our writing stations. Ask me which 2 stations I did today. (whiteboard spelling, weird and wacky facts, letter writing , quote of the week) In the afternoon we read a book called “Neo Leo” and then we built criteria for our sketchbook artifact work. Next we got a special kit delivered to our classroom from the Glenbow Museum. We had to learn how to handle artifacts correctly and we had special white gloves. Then Mrs. Stuart passed around our first artifact. Ask me what it was and what I learned about it! What was it called? What was it made out of? What was it used for? Who would have used it? At the end of the day we started a Canadian Geographic Kids video about Rankin Inlet, Nunavut.
Important Reminders:
If you have not yet written a letter back to your student in their Home Journal, please do so and return to school.
Word Rings words for students who are working on them have gone home today. Please check SMILE folders. The lesson sent home is based on testing from this year not necessarily based on where they left off at the end of last year. Like last year this will be assessed weekly.
No school for students Friday Oct 7--- professional day for teachers
No School Monday Oct 10 --- Thanksgiving holiday
