Dear families,
Important notices:
We started our day with reading stations, followed by Thoughtful Thursday. In Thoughtful Thursday, we talked about the difference between a compliment and a meaningful compliment. A compliment can be telling someone you like their shoes, but if you give someone a meaningful compliment, you are thinking about what makes them special as a person, putting yourself in their place, and thinking about the things that would make them feel good and recognized. We all took turns to give everyone in the class a meaningful compliment.
We had literacy groups today, and we continued to track the temperature for our three cities.
We showed what we know about subtraction, and soon we will be doing BUILD to learn more mental math strategies for subtraction.
We read a story called The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn and did some art related to it. Don't ask about the art; it's going to be a surprise!
Have a great evening!
Love,
The Grade 2s
