Dear parents,
Today, we made boats out of a styrofoam ball, three toothpicks, and a paper sail. The goal was to make a boat that would stay upright in water. We noticed that something has to balance the sail to keep in upright. If you want it to stay upright, you need to put most of the weight on the bottom. Next week, we will be building our own boats from materials from home. Start thinking about what you can use and what design features you want for your boat.
In gym, we played a new game called "Tchoukball," a game of honour. Ask me how to play (and how to say "tchoukball").
We had math and worked on different stations. Some of us did "Guess my number," some did adding with the teacher, and some of us had adding challenges.
We started a new Magic Tree House book, Mummies in the Morning.
Have a great evening,
Grade 2
