Dear families,
Important notices:
Today we began our day with reading stations, followed by writing block, where we learned about how to write proper sentences that are exciting to read. A proper sentence needs to have a "who" (subject) and an "action" (predicate). An exciting sentence has details such as "where," or "when." Ask us what some of our silly sentences were!
We went to gym and learned more about gymnastics. We got to use equipment like risers, ramps, and ladders.
We had a fire drill in the morning. Our class was able to exit the school quickly, however we were really loud and a little bit panicky which is NOT safe.
In the afternoon, we got to use real thermometers! We continued to record and compare our temperatures across Canada. We also learned about how colour affects heat. Ask us what gets hotter, black or white!
Have a great evening!

Important notices:
- Our class will be going to the Olympic Oval tomorrow for skating lessons. We will return to the school after dismissal. Please plan for pickup at 3:05-3:15. Make sure students come to school with a healthy lunch, water bottle, skates/helmet if they have them, and gloves.
- Valentine's and treats will be exchanged before boarding the bus for skating. If you are bringing treats, please make sure they can be placed in backpacks for consumption after school, as our students should be eating a healthy meal before physical activity.
- Mrs. Tipper's and Mrs. Stuart's class are still collecting donations for the food bank, homeless, and Calgary Humane Society. Please send donations such as non-perishable food, toiletries, socks, scarves, mitts, and pet supplies to Room 54/55.
- Check out Scholastic Book Orders!
