Dear Families,
Today we started with our reading stations. Then we did a flip flop of tech and art. In tech we were working on typing a good copy of our wild things stories for our book. In art we did card making. We had sharing and we handed out report cards.
Important Reminders:
Report Cards in SMILE folders tonight.
December 18 is the last ay of school before the winter break. We will be joining whole school caroling in the gym.
Thank you to the parents who have already volunteered to help us with reading and word rings in January.
Evergreen School will be participating once again in the annual Canstruction® event in December for the Calgary Food Bank. A group of grade 4 students has taken on the challenge to think like engineers, designers, architects and builders to create an extraordinary structure all out of cans of food which, after judging, will be then de-canstructed, with all food going to the Calgary Food Bank.
This year’s theme is nature. The grade 4 design team has decided to extend their learning about the regions of Alberta and build a model of the Rocky Mountains. In order to make their vision come true, they are looking for canned and boxed food donations. Specifically, they are looking for:
· Catelli 500g spaghetti
· Blue menu cans (Superstore)
· Bottled water with blue lids
· Del Monte green cans
· Great Value white canned foods
· Clover Leaf Flaked White Tuna – black label
All food donations are gratefully accepted and can be dropped off at the school office anytime next week. Thank you for your support of this project which in turn will go to support needy Calgarians.
