Dear Families,
Today we started with reading stations and then we had flex meeting. We looked at a new poem for the week. This one is by Robert Frost. Do you know any Robert Frost poems? Can you guess which one we are doing? Next we completed our stop the leak challenge. Ask me how my group’s test went. Were we successful? Why or why not? Then we had snack, story and a short recess before we had literacy centers. In the afternoon we started with 1 minute sketches before we had time to work on our Ted Harrison art and writing our artist statements. At the end of the day we had a ketchup and gym flip flop.
Important reminders:
Stephen’s Backpacks!
It is that time of year again to start going through your child's toys and books. The grade 1s will be hosting a TOY AND BOOK SALE to support Stephen's Backpack Society on November 24, 2016 for the entire day. Please send in any gently used toys and/or books starting on November 21. We will also accept cash donations. All of the money raised this year will be used to purchase backpacks filled with items like books, toothbrushes, and toys for children that live on the streets in Calgary. For more information about this program please go to the Stephen's Backpack Society at http://www.stephensbackpacks.com.
