Dear Families,
Today we started with our reading stations, morning routine and literacy centers. This was the fist time in a long time that the water research group has had to work with Mrs. Tipper. Then we we read some more of Little House on the Prairie. It was a very suspenseful chapter today. Ask me what happened in the story. We only had time for a body break today instead of recess because the next thing that happened was that the artists came in to pain horses with us. It was a good thing we were wearing old clothes because we were working with acrylic paint today. This job took until lunch time by the time we cleaned up. In the afternoon we had to read a little bit more of our story to find out what happened. Luckily it was a happy ending to the chapter. Then Mrs. Stuart talked to us some more about boat designs. We looked at lots of different kinds of boats to see what was similar and different about the designs depending on the purpose. Then we got our next boat design challenge. This challenge is called "Don't get you sails wet". Ask me what materials we had to work with. We have not had a chance to test them out yet but we need to make sure that we have created a sailboat that can float upright. We will test them out and then have a chance to modify our designs if we need to. At the end of the day we had gym.
Important Reminders:
Thank you to everyone who has brought in 2L cardboard containers for our next project but we STILL need many more. All cartons are gratefully received. Thank you.
love the Grade Twos
