Dear Families,
We eased into our Tuesday with our usual reading stations and morning routine. Today in morning routine we were looking at some common spelling patterns that many of us are still not using correctly in our writing. Next we read a book by David Bouchard called "If You Are Not From the Prairie...." We then started to write our own books. We had to think about what is special and different about living in a prairie community. Then we had snack and story. We started reading a book called "When Jessie Came Over the Sea" It is about a girl who emigrates to America at the turn of the century. We were thinking about why our families chose to move to Calgary or to Canada. Can you tell me why we chose to live here? Then we had an outside recess. When we came in we played some math games. In the afternoon we started with D.E.A.R. then we had a gym and ketchup flip flop. At the end of the day we had time for Circle of Courage.
Important Reminders:
Tomorrow is class and individual (for those who return the forms) photo day.
Thursday we will be painting with the artists. Please wear old clothes that you don't mind getting paint on.
We are still looking for LOTS of 2L milk and juice cardboard cartons for our pioneer math project. We need AT LEAST 20 more!!!! Please send in any empty cartons that you can spare. Thanks!
Love the Grade Twos
