Dear Families,
Today we started with our usual reading centers and morning routine and then we had our just write time. Today we were working in our journals. We wrote about what we did in swimming or school last week. The twist was we got to do our picture first as a plan for what we were going to write. Then we completed our cowboy alphabet book that we started last week before we went outside for recess. When we came back in we got our first turn with the Blackfoot Artifact Kit. We had a reminder about how to handle these valuable artifacts and then we got to look at and gently touch the first artifact. Ask me to tell you about what our first artifact was today. What was it made out of? What was it used for? Who would have used it? After lunch we came back in to class and sketched our artifact and labelled it. Then we had sketchbook ketchup time. We were working on all our pages from last week and we also had gym. In gym we had time to just start learning a new target game. At the end of the day we cleaned up and looked at some examples of real painted ponies in a fancy book of Mrs. Tipper's.
Important Reminders:
We are in desperate need of Stampede volunteers especially for our week with the red stars. We need 2 more people for Tuesday April 7 and 3 more people for each day Wednesday April 8, Thursday April 9 and Monday April 13. We need 4 people for Friday April 10 as we currently have NO volunteers for this day. (please note that Friday is a full day not a half day) If you are able to volunteer and you have a police clearance PLEASE email Mrs. Stuart. [email protected] We also need 1 more person to go with the green stars on each of Tuesday April 14, Wednesday April 15 and Thursday April 16. If you can help out with the green stars please email Mrs. Tipper [email protected]
Student Led conferences are all day and night March 19. 8am to 8pm --Please book a time for your student to show you all their hard work.
No school for students Thursday March 19 (conferences) and Friday March 20 (professional day)
