Today we were very fortunate to have Constable Baker visit our class. She taught about our emotions and the "tools" we have to help us respect ourselves, others and our community. We brainstormed with her different "tools" she uses in her job like: all her senses, her voice, her brain and her heart. Then we shared different ways we help ourselves manage our emotions like: take a break, go outside, get exercise, eat, drink water, rest, listen to music, play and talk with a friend, give and get a hug, count to 10, draw or read. So many great strategies to help ourselves! Ask me what idea I wrote.
