This afternoon we did fantastic job following directions to set up our visual sketch journal to record owl facts. We used our math skills to divide our page in half from top to bottom. We then glued half the page on to the next page and then cut the 2 sections in half from side to side to make 4 flaps.
Interesting facts we know and learned include:
* Owls are nocturnal.
* There are snowy and great horned owls.
* Owl's eyes don't move. Their heads move almost all the way around.
* Owls are hunters and birds of prey.
In math we created our own symmetrical designs on a 10 x10 grid which we figured out has 100 squares.
In literacy we worked on a variety of literacy centers working on our weekly poem and popcorn words. In some guided reading groups we worked on using expression and finding interesting verbs (action words.)
Important reminders:
No school Friday and Monday.
