Our new skating day will be next Thurs. March 2nd
Today we looked closely at the red line on a thermometer and learned a new poem called:
The Thermometer
The thermometer has a little red line
That jumps right up when the weather is fine.
But, when it is cold, as everyone knows,
Down into its little round bulb it goes.
It scrunches all up in a tight little ball
As if it can’t stand the cold at all.
When the temperature begins to change, why then …
It carefully starts to climb again.
In the afternoon we used our new 100 beads to practice subtraction with regrouping. We also used tens and ones blocks to practice and compared which strategy we preferred.
