This afternoon we learned about a folk artist from Nova Scotia named Maud Lewis. She was born in 1903 and died in 1970. We calculated that she was 67 years old when she died. She was self-taught and created her art from her own desire to paint. Her paintings showed that looked closely at details from her own experiences. Today, we began painting an ocean scene and sketched the land, rocks and ocean / sky line. We are very excited to paint the ocean and sky tomorrow.
