Important info:
1) Evergreen's Got Talent show tomorrow at 10:00 am highlighting talents of students in Grade 3 and 4.
Today we learned about homonyms and thought of many words that sound the same but are spelled differently and have a different meaning. Some examples we thought of were:
see - sea I - eye tail - tale dear - deer pair - pear to - two - too way - weigh
Many people solved the mystery word this week which was DOGSLEDDING. Ask me how many small words I found with the letters.
In Social Studies we were detectives and looked closely at a picture of an igloo with many parts of traditional Inuit culture. We made a legend and labelled different parts like: ulu, kamiks, parka, soapstone lamp, seal, dog sled, husky and a bow drill.
Just before lunch we had a fire drill. We didn't know about it so it made us surprised and a bit anxious. We recognized that we felt in the "yellow zone." Soon after we moved back to the "green zone."
After our peer spelling quiz and choosing new words, we practiced our math skills using Mathletics or we played math games. At the end of the day we worked on a crayon scratch art. Ask me how we did it.
