Important notes:
1) Peer spelling tomorrow afternoon
2) Return library books when done. Students can exchange books any day when they need a new book.
3) No school Friday May 15 and Monday May 18th
What a busy, fun and creative day! In the morning we learned how to write a Haiku poem. We learned that they are written about nature and have 3 lines. The 1st line has 5 syllables; the 2nd line has 7 syllables and the 3rd line has 7 syllables. We wrote butterfly Haiku's. Here is one:
Butterfly Haiku
Symmetrical wings
A flying kaleidoscope
All kinds of colors
In gym we played a great game in four separate groups with chickens. We don't have a name for it so we called it ... The game with no name :). In the afternoon we experimented with sinking and floating more objects and then tried to make an unsinkable boat with plasticine. We discovered that the shape made a big difference. At the end of the day we sketched real daffodils and roses using water colour pencil crayons.
