Dear Parents,
This morning we started off with a tricky math problem. We listed items that could be a part of a Thanksgiving dinner. Afterwards we were told that we could have four items on our plate and had to come up with as many combinations as we could. The most challenging part of this problem was organizing our thoughts so that we didn't have repeating answers. We then had Daily 5. Today was our first day of 'switches' with Mrs. McLarty's class. Some of us work with Mrs. Stanford, some of us with Ms. Watkins and some of us with Mrs. McLarty to practice reading. When we are not reading in a small group we have our own independent work to do.
After recess we continued working with the Inuit Museo-Kit from the Glenbow. Tomorrow will be our last chance to work with the artifacts. This was our introduction to the Inuit culture. We are going to learn what each tool was used for (and by whom). There may be some surprises!
This afternoon we did our Wednesday Yoga and then learned about Vincent Van Gogh. Ask me what I learned about him (the teachers think there is one particular detail we will all remember - **shudder**). We then did an adaptation of his piece, Wheat Field with Crows. We used pastels to create rich, dark colors.

Have a great night!
