Dear Parents,
We had a very exciting day today! We met our class pets - Whitney and Walter. They are Box Turtles that are over 20 years old. They are land turtles so we were able to hold them! So exciting. We learned the difference between cold and warm blooded animals. Ask me to give you a few examples of each. Here is a picture of our new friends!

The turtles came at a great time as we can easily teach our new Science Unit, Hot and Cold Temperatures, with them!
We practiced our addition skills by playing a game of Connect Four. It's a variation of the traditional game. For this game we use two dice. It's still the same idea though. We are really going to focus on addition this week and next.
This morning we started learning about the Acadians! So far, we know that they are from the Eastern Coast of Canada and eat lots of fish. We found their flag and introduced a little bit about the French and British. We also talked about ships! Today was our first introduction and already we have learned a ton!
We have homework today! We want to know:
What are the predators of Turtles?
Have a great evening!
Love,
The Grade Twos
