Dear Parents,
This morning we started off with "Write It Wednesday!" The question that we had to answer today was:
Think of items from your home that you mix with water. Give examples of items that create a solution when mixed with water and items that create a suspension when mixed with water. Organize your work!
Our teachers were looking to see if we could set up our paper in an organized fashion (t-chart, sentences, etc.) and if we could use our knowledge from previous experiments. Afterwards we reviewed our experiment from the day before and created a list using our ideas.
In math we continued on with "Doubles Plus One". We rolled a dice, used that number to make a double and then added one more. Some of us have a difficult time with "adding one more". This is something we will continue to work on.
After lunch we wrote about the solutions and suspensions experiment from yesterday and tried to explain what the term 'dissolve' means. Most of us decided that we would prefer to drink things that are "smooth" (dissolved) rather than "chunky". We ended the day by going to the Learning Commons as a class. We had a review of where we could find certain books and the process to sign books out. We didn't get everyone's books signed out in time so our teachers signed them out for us and they are waiting to be picked up in the morning!
Open Minds Field Trip
We are in desperate need for parent volunteers to join us the week of December 5th - 9th. One group has 5 volunteer spots filled out of the 25 needed. If you have an up-to-date police clearance and are able to help us out, please let us know! We need you! Unfortunately, without enough volunteers we will be unable to go.
Have a great night - stay warm!
Love,
The Grade Twos
