Dear Parents,
This morning we started off with a science experiment. Ms. Fuhrman, our student teacher, asked us a question.
If you were going to make a rain jacket, what material would you use?
We then tested out 5 different materials. We were looking for materials that absorbed water, resisted water and repelled water. The difference between repel and resist can be tricky to describe. Ask me if I can tell you the difference. More importantly, ask me which material I would use to make a rain jacket. The materials we tested were: cotton, nylon, plastic film, tin foil and sewing fabric.
We then went into Daily 5. Ask me what I did for literacy today.
After recess we did, "Write it Wednesday". This is where we answered the question about the rain jacket, using the data that we collected in our science experiment.
This afternoon we had yoga and then moved onto math. We practiced skip counting by 2's starting at the number 1. We then rolled a dice and had to identify 2 more. We used double dice (dice within a dice) to find a number (43) and added two more (45).
We ended the day with a trip to the Learning Commons! We love going to the Learning Commons to sign out books. Some of us have some overdue books that need to be returned to the library as soon as possible.
Reminder:
Tomorrow we are going to be visiting the toy sale for Stephen's Backpack.
Have a great day,
Love,
The Grade Twos
