Hello Families!
It was a very productive day in Grade Two!
First, we learned how to use our senses to complete a descriptive writing assignment. We used our 5 senses to write about skating at the Oval. We did some amazing writing today! Our teachers were very impressed.
Next, we completed some word work while Mrs. Goodall and Mr. Knitter read with different groups of students.
After recess, we had Math. We talked about place value and worked on some subtracting. We tried to figure out why you cannot subtract 88 from 3. And then we explained why we could subtract 3 from 88.
3- 88 vs 88-3 (just an example, we used lots of different numbers)
After lunch we worked on our Science Experiments. As ice cube Engineers, we wrote down our findings and drew diagrams to illustrate our work.
Finally, Mr. Knitter taught us how to be mind readers. Ask us what he did!!!!! Maybe we can read your mind!
We have 5 days off!!!
Our teachers would love it if you worked on some one and two-digit subtraction.
Also, we know that you all read at home so for an extra challenge, we would like you complete some sort of book report on a book you have finished reading. If you would like to access some new reading material you can click on Razz kids on the Evergreen School web page.
You could do one of the following:
Retell the book in writing.
Draw a picture of what happened in the book.
Answer who, what, where, when, and/or why about the book.
Draw am important scene from the book and explain why it is important.
Thanks for working with us over the break! Please bring in any work you do over the break. We would love to share it with our classmates!
Important Reminders:
No school Thursday, February 16 and Friday, February 17
No School Monday February 20
The skating we missed has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 2. More information will be provided via Blog.
Have a wonderful long weekend!
