Good Afternoon Families!
Today we started our day with some word work and then we worked in our reading groups. Next, we worked on regrouping in math. We used base ten blocks to help us solve questions like: 16 + 9 , 27 + 8, and 43 + 58. Ask us to show you what we did!
After lunch, we talked about our new homework activity for April. Our teachers want us to read, read, read! We have brought home a sheet to record our nightly reading. Our teachers would like us to read for a minimum of 15 minutes each day. We can return the sheet at the end of April for a great reward. Sorry that the second page of our reading record sheet is faded. Our school copier is not working well!
Some of us also came home with directions on how to log-on to Mrs. Goodall's Raz-Kids site. Our teachers would love it if we read books from there (it has been set up at our specific reading level) and Mrs. Goodall and Mr. Knitter can check in to see how our reading is going! We don't have to just read from Raz-Kids. We can use any resource we would like (books, other on-line reading sites, etc.).
Some of us did not receive a Raz-Kids code. This is because we are reading beyond the levels laid out in Raz. Our teachers will continue to send home books we can read or we can continue with the chapter books we are reading at home.
To finish our day, we talked about letter T in the ABC's of Acadia (T stands for tourism. Ask us what we learned!) and then we went to Gym.
Have a great night!
Love,
Your fabulous Grade Two students!
