Dear Parents,
It's strange being back in the classroom this week - but it's always nice to be home :)
Today we started off with 'Team Edit Tuesday'. Ms. Fuhrman wrote us a letter today except she made some pretty big spelling mistakes. It was our job to find them. Afterwards Mrs. Stanford's group went into the gym. It sure is chilly in the gym these days - especially when we are the first to go in! Today we played 'X's and O's" with bean bags. It was set up like a rally. The object of the game was to block the other team from getting three in a row as well as get three in a row ourselves. There was lots of running involved, and strategy!
In Music we practiced some Christmas songs for our carolling on Friday! We are looking forward to that! In math, we continued on with learning Crib! To start off, we are focusing on counting cards to 31. This has been tricky for us. Each player puts down a card and has to add their number to the card before. We tried using blocks or counting the pictures on the cards to help us. This is something that we can practice at home. Hopefully, once we get the hang of counting on with cards, we'll introduce the boards and talk more about the point system. This is a great way to practice adding!
This afternoon we talked a lot about our Open Minds experiences. We got to see pictures and videos from the other groups' adventures. We have decided that both groups want to switch and experience the other trip! We also followed a step-by-step drawing from Art For Kids Hub. We drew a Nutcracker. It was basically made completely of rectangles!
Have a great night!
Love,
The Grade Twos
