Hello parents,
Today in school we started our day off with word work. We are trying to use words in different ways so we can remember them.
The words we worked on today are:
find, funny, help, here, jump
when, new, was, people, which, made, time, this, then, than
We have two groups for spelling. Ask which words I learned.
We then worked on some math and talked about how subtracting can be thought of as taking away. We also went on a trip down the number line.
After lunch we wrote a promise for pink shirt day. These promises are to help us prevent bullying in our school.
We then wrote conclusions for out science experiments and talked more about insulation. Then we went to gym.
Important Notes:
We have picked out a new book to read at home. These should be brought back Tuesday next week so that we can get a new one. We will be doing this every week.
Tomorrow is Pink Shirt day, a day we wear a pink shirt and talk about bullying. If we don't have a pink shirt, we can wear a colour that is similar.
Our teachers would love it if you worked on some one and two-digit subtraction.
Also:
Congratulations to our 3 students who did some homework!
Our teachers would love it if we completed a book report challenge by the end of February. They know that we all read at home so for an extra challenge, our teachers would like us to complete some sort of book report on a book we have finished reading. If you would like to access some new reading material you can click on Razz kids on the Evergreen School web page.
We could do one of the following:
Retell the book in writing.
Draw a picture of what happened in the book.
Answer who, what, where, when, and/or why about the book.
Draw am important scene from the book and explain why it is important.
Please bring in the book report by the end of February so we can share it with our classmates.
Have a good night!
