This morning we started off by watching a clip about Charlie Brown and his friends visiting Flander's Field. We learned about poppies and the poem, "In Flander's Field". Afterwards we had our Daily 5. Ask me what I did in literacy today. Then we had an assembly. It was a very quiet, respectful assembly. We didn't clap or cheer. We sat quietly and enjoyed the songs from grade 3. We had 2 students lay our class wreath at the front. During the minute of silence we heard the horns. In math, we used ten frames to build numbers as high as twenty! Some of us even went higher! After lunch we did "Found poetry". We used a poem that we already knew and made a new poem by pulling out important words. Lastly we made dove art that was "glorious" (their words - not mine :) To make them we used a stencil and chalk pastels. They are so pretty!
Reminder that there is no school tomorrow for Remembrance Day. Please take a moment of silence tomorrow to remember those who have fought to protect us.
Have a great day off! See you Thursday!
Love,
The Grade Ones
