Important Reminders:
1, Skating at the oval begins next week. Some students have not returned their permission forms!!! Please return the forms ASAP!! Thank you!
2. Parent/Teacher interviews are Thursday and Friday this week. Mrs. Goodall would love to meet with all of her students. Please be sure to book an interview time. Thank you!
It has been a busy Monday! Mrs. Stanford was away and Mr. Nbumbi replaced her for the day. We started the day with Gym and Music. It was fun to practice skills that will help us with our skating next week!
Next, we read a poem about Valentine's Day. We circled all the rhyming words, ee and ea words! Then, during reading time, we completed a making words activity using the letters: valentines day. We made two, three, four, and five letter words. Mrs. Goodall's favorite word was silent! She said we were so silent when we were completing our work!!!
After lunch, we had Math and Science. In Math, we worked on word problems using two-digit addition and subtraction. We thought it was funny that all the problems had our names in them. Here is an example:
Mrs. Goodall has 13 cookies for Valentine's Day. There are 43 students in her class. How many more cookies does she need if she wants to give a cookie to every student in her class?
In Science, we talked about the word "insulation". We learned about different products people use to keep things hot or cold. Then, we did a science experiment using different materials to insulate hot water. Ask us what happened when we poured boiling water into a plastic cup!
Have a good night!
