What a beautiful start to the week! Our sunrise for Calgary was at 7:06 this morning. That makes us very happy!
This morning in gym we practiced hitting the koosh balls with a partner. We had 3 different challenges. The first was to get a rally of 5 with our partners. Then we needed to hit the koosh ball over the net 5 times without dropping it. Finally we moved over to the nets and hit the ball back and forth there. It's not as easy as it looks.
Before lunch we needed to solve a problem with flowers. Our problem was:
If Mrs. Healing wants to plant 50 flowers into 6 flower beds, equally, how many flowers would there be in each bed? It was tough because it doesn't divide up equally. We used what we learned about dividing up the Hershey Kisses to figure out how many in each flower bed. Some of us drew pictures, some of us made a chart and some of us even solved the answer with division! Wow! We learned that each flower bed could have 8 and there would be two left over that we couldn't plant.
This afternoon we made stick puppets for the characters in the Three Little Pigs. We are going to use them to help us recreate the story. We also learned a new poem called "March". Ask me what the poem is about!
Have a great night in the sunshine!
